They cracked down on the hotels. So when you bobtail to the hotel go to bed and wake up to go grab food, the truck is not out there.

The kicker I had call terminal for a ride back because the dude who used my truck did not even return it where he got it from.

Does not happen a lot but still can.

You too huh? They've been running us pretty well 6 days a week for 2 months now. Getting real old.

Guess they don't have enough teams but at this rate they're gonna have a hard time keeping the ones they got.

 

Man I asked to go home this week from muskogee OK. They laughed and sent me Dallas home.

I see so many outside carriers. Maybe add few more and chill out on the teams you have. I agree #### gets old fast.

 

That was just...LIFE at ABF. The work never stopped. Six days, off exactly 48 hours to the minute and right back to it.

 

No, it didn't exist. It sounds like a good deal. Never heard anything bad about it. Used to see them training in Coon Rapids yard. When you get 10 to 11 months in with Magnum, come back and see me (private message me here).
Words of wisdom, keep your record clean that first year, go slow, don't rush anything. Remember that you have nothing to prove the first year to anyone other than keeping a clean record. It's the golden ticket to a big pay raise, new company.

 

I can relate to that after having covered guys runs on vacation. Couldn't wait to get back to extra board. I think of extra board like Martin Sheen in Apocalypse Now. Waiting in the hotel for my next assignment, and for my sins, they gave it to me. Was just like room service. The horror, the horror................
