can the fmcsa tell if your local driving for two different companies ? even tho you never go over a scale and drive a different truck everyday. would they be able to tell if they look up the DL license number.

If you are going to drive illegally, why not just lie and say you are on the timecard exemption...
Hopefully when you get in your fatigue related wreck, the only ones you kill are yourselves. Unfortunately that's unlikely to be the case....-Jay5GS Thanks this. -

I’ve driven for more than one company a lot. They really wouldn’t be able to tell just from your license number, but you are required to report all hours worked to both companies. The setup I had was a hospital linen service company that needed coverage 24/7/365. On the weekends they didn’t mind if I took a passenger so I would take one of my kids or my wife. Extra money and they liked riding in the trucks. I would have to fill out a form for my full time employer and the part time one documenting hours for each. Did this for over 14 years. Never had an issue but if you had an incident without documenting ALL hours worked fir both, I assume it would be falsification of record of duty.
