My take on the M-16 thread. I was never in battle, but I always found the M-16 easy to handle, fairly easy to clean, and very accurate. A gunnery sergeant I served with told us that he started his career in the early 60s with the M-1. Later of course it was replaced by the M-14 and still latter by the M-16. A master shooter, he said that he scored highest with the 16. Of course that could have been attributed to his increasing skill as he grew into the Corps.

Its why they are green. When they are broke down in the field, neighbors drive bye and dont notice.

Several years ago in Texas, country music star Johnny Rodriguez shot and killed a man who had broken into his home. It looked bad for a while because he had had a heated argument with the intruder a few days before. Eventually, he was cleared. The court ruled it justified.
