My truck front differential is spitting gear oil

    Hi,Driver,my front gear box is spitting oil out from breather hole,I am losing 2 quart of oil every 12thousand miles,Can any driver help me with this problem, thanks,5k driver,

    Strange! Could you possibly have air going into the axle housing from the interaxle lock air piston?
    Most use air to engage the lock but some are opposite.

    I've had it happen 1 time on a new Truck.. Somehow a plastic thread protector cap was left in the hole that the breather threads into..when the gear oil got hot it pushed oil through the breather..

    Thanks,HeavyD,when I left home,I fill it full,then I drove 4500 miles,I lose more half quarts,truck run fine,the gauge of differential goes up to 210 most,I used full synthetic,I will bring it home and let Truck gear check it out,thanks,5k

    I will am not going to that the time to explain how it works right now But this in how to check it.
    Remove the axle breather. Chalk the wheels and have the engine running brakes released. Everything like you are going down the road except in neutral. Is air being slowly pushed out the vent hole? No air no problem.
