I’m training at Sage on my own dime for more opportunities. My goal is to join a company that I don’t have to go out with a trainer for 6-7 weeks. I know the advantages etc but at 49 with a lot of life experience I just know I’ll only be able to deal with it for 2-3 weeks. That said, I know the pay is roughly the same anywhere for beginners. Wilson wants me but I am balking at the amount of time you have to spend with a trainer again. That’s the sticking point for me. I don’t plan on staying with this company that long because once I have about a year experience I wanna move onto one of those 1099 companies where you can make a high mileage rate or percentage of the load and they just run you. I don’t need any benefits or anything like that I just want to put together a bunch of cash for some land. I know opinions vary of that approach but I’m not asking them.
I’d rather be left alone to run and not micromanaged as I’m used to working for myself, a self starter, motivated, kick ###, get it done type. Question is, what’s a good company to start with that will give me consistent miles and won’t micromanage and annoy me? Thanks.
Currently in school Need help with what company to start with..

I went with melton my first year. Flatbed company. Drove with a trainer 17 or 18 days. I averaged around 2500mi/wk. That was 5 years ago though, not sure if anything's changed.
