    Hey all,

I recently just attended orientation for a company going OTR, everything was going along great until they told me they couldn't verify my driving history.
I got my start with Pepsi and that's who I left to go OTR. I provided a number to one of the managers, he said he can't confirm anything but he provided a verification number.
They called this verification number and it lists that I was a GeoBox driver, that's what Pepsi calls their class a drivers, but they said they needed something to state that it was a class a position.
When I tried to explain to them that was the class a position and that's just what they call it, they said they couldn't use this and needed a paystub or someone from Pepsi to say "class a."
I don't know what to do next to help them verify, or even get them to understand that the position is exclusively class a.

Is there any system, form, or report out there that will have my recorded history on it?
Any suggestions on what to do is appreciated

In my opinion that carrier is being "Richards". There is NO rule anywhere that says NO driving history is a bar to being hired. My advice is to get all the information you can together and let them decide. There are many other carriers that will hire you if these Richards won't.

do you recall ANY other driver at Pepsi, you were friends with?

can you contact the yardman, who when i worked at Pepsi, assigned trucks?

do you have any paperwork from the Pepsi job, like for instance say, the company rules, or company information for your job?

or better yet, walk into the Safety dept, maybe someone in that office, can call over to Pepsi for you to verify..???

if not, then tell the new company to shove it.

NO JOB, is worth ANY BS when they have anyone in the office that cannot follow up on a simple reference.

That's what's making the whole ordeal frustrating, when I provide them numbers for managers at Pepsi and other people in the office they told them they "can't provide any information over the phone" because of policy. I thought I was pretty good friends with one of the managers and told him all they wanted was for him to say "GeoBox is Class A" and he wouldn't do it.

I'll have to look and see if I have any paperwork still, a lot of that stuff is all digital with Pepsi and once I was out of their system I couldn't access anything anymore. They even told me they could use a hos log but I don't have access to those anymore either

Doesn’t matter if there is a rule or not, they can make up any company policy they wish. Maybe they have a deal with their insurance company that they won’t hire someone without experience? Nobody knows for sure, but there is not a thing stopping them from saying they won’t hire him with no verifiable experience.

I did not say they can't. My issue is carriers are not fully following the rules in part 391 when they do this then quote 391 as to why! I have seen this time and time again. Of course, a carrier can follow whatever policy they desire. However, they can't go over a maximum or under a minimum.

On another board, I used the term Charlie Foxtrot! I'm still laughing at some of the replies! What does it mean? Hint, Clint Eastwood movie!
