Ram heaven is spoiling me this whole hotel every night has me wondering what I saw in sleeping in a truck.

According to the reports, the driver of the minivan was in a nasty divorce at the time.
One of the pictures of the remains of the minivan, you can see the trucks fuel tank in the cargo area. They estimated the speed of minivan as 85+ at time of impact. The truck was at 65.
My friend was never the same after that. Hard to describe, just not the same person.Rideandrepair, dwells40, Cattleman84 and 6 others Thank this. -

my friend in the lumber truck thought for sure the person that hit him was dead. truck went right under and looked like a crushed up paper bag. he climbed out of his truck and sat on the shoulder of the highway, another company truck pulled up behind him and the driver ran up to him sitting there. he wouldn't go back to look in the pickup, when the other guy got to the pickup the dude was still alive and laying across the seats with only his boots poking out the driver side where the door used to be. the crash team cut him out of the truck and this kid had a broken ankle. he was night shift at the mill, fell asleep on his way home after his shift...less than 2 miles from his driveway.Espressolane, dwells40, Cattleman84 and 5 others Thank this. -
Alas it is a sign of the times. People living on the edge with out the bills paid. Told if you want to make it in life we must work. Yet work has been shut off in the pandemic. So how does one make ends meet. Sell off ones possesions. Yet most people are in the same boat. Unfortunately some are feeling desperation to the pooint suicide may be the only answer. Good luck to all of you.
Note I am not feeling suicidal. Yet I understand why there is a great deal more of it going around.Espressolane, JolliRoger, dwells40 and 6 others Thank this. -
Over 100 people die everyday in the US from auto accidents. It's a % vs time model for truckers. I had mine and couldn't get in any vehicle for 3 weeks. Did another 12 yrs to retire but looked at driving from a different POV. Most don't have the knowledge or the skills, just ask them.

So looks like this adventure in trucking is gonna be a truly fresh start. My SUV is on the fritz. So I won't be able to drive it to TX, and have no where to leave it in FL. So I'll have to sell it and fly out to DFW. Ironically it is actually cheaper to fly than take the bus. Plus I know I'll be there in time for my DMV apt on Friday. So now just have to figure out what to do with stuff I am not taking, and how much I can cram into my duffle bag. This is gonna be fun.
