How many problems with speeding and log violations would go away if all truckers were paid an hourly wage?

If you really want to do something, then why not call 911 immediately?
That wouldn’t make for good video or entertain your audience would it.

I get it. Do what you gotta do. But as a driver that ran Cali every week for 30 months. And prior to that I lived in corning ca for 90 days. In 05 I think.
The further north you go the more relaxed they are. I have personally ran 65 to 68 in Hayward and north of it. And was passed by Leo on more than one occasion.
However, My former teamdriver was busted on I40 bout ten mins from az heading towards az. I can't remember how fast he was going but took his right to drive in Cali for one year and 1500$ after court cost trying to fight it.
This was after I went solo. The cop was cool or so my buddy thought.
As I've stated several times. Just don't go to Cali. As far as putting someone locking someone in the left lane in your pick up truck. That's not self policing, that's instagating. Self policing is something different. Like walking up at the fuel pump and offering a driver a cup of coffee cause he's making bad choices.
And yes I've done this several times. All it takes is hey man are you good. You looked s bit wobbly out there you need a drink or a sandwich or something. Just my two cents. We all make a difference when we put the camera and phones down

Unfortunately not enough. At work we are hourly and at least 3/4 of the drivers have to speed. And it's not like it's to get home faster or anything like that. They just have to see how fast they can push the semi before attracting a cop.

You know, most states have laws on the books that state, " Truck driver's must speed and violate other laws in order to be fined enormous amounts in order to balance the state budget".

if I wasn't so anti Leo I would think your joking, but I got pulled over and completely messed with and searched dog walked around and everything. Four waving at a uncover sitting at the stop sign across from the one I was sitting at.
I was going to turn left and being the nice guy I am. I let him go first. I was 16 and had had my license for 4 days.
I didn't know he was a uncover. And I've never waved another person thru a stop sign since. And ill stop there.

If you were truly concerned with cleaning up trucking you would put more effort into it than publishing gotcha videos on YouTube. Start an organization. Get people on your side. Turn the monetization of your channel off. Don’t engage in reckless behavior in a work zone to get footage for your channel.

And I just checked the regs and it doesn’t say anything about when or how much you get compensated. It simply says getting paid for any work done for a non motor carrier must be logged as on duty. If you go off duty at 8pm and click a couple buttons to publish a video at 10pm that you know you’ll receive revenue from then you best start your break over again if you’re going to continue calling out people because they bend different rules than you do.

Maybe I should put as much energy into it as the rest of the drivers in this industry do, a big fat nothing....

Why would I do that, catching truckers doing illegal things is a goldmine! What reckless behavior? Are we talking about the video I did where I said in it that I was blocking this trucker into the hammer lane which he CHOSE to illegally get himself into? First of all, I was just keeping up with the flow of traffic. Nothing to really see there but yes, I am guilty of pumping the drama up for views. It wasn't reckless unless you take into account the trucker was illegally speeding 20 miles over the speed limit and also in the hammerlane in California which is also illegal for trucks-- the reckless behavior was ALL on the trucker in that situation. Just because I have a camera does not mean I am somehow going to have to have 10 times more responsibility that any other driver who has no camera.

Sigh, it is not work to publish videos. It is a hobby. I challenge anyone to prove that I must log on duty while filming/editing/publishing content onto a website.

What did I do that was wrong? Oh driving in the middle lane keeping up with the flow of traffic while a trucker was illegally in the hammerlane? For all anyone could be concerned who saw that, they could just think I was another clueless car driver keeping up with the flow of traffic that was traveling 75 miles an hour, just so happens to be a trucker also going 75 in a 55 in the hammerlane. Are there degrees of wrong? The trucker going 75 in a 55 in the illegal hammer lane, what do you have to say about that driver?

That's how performance art works. This is chess, it ain't checkers.
