Well guys I noticed something weird with my truck , lately I heard a noise coming from the bendix air compressor on my truck it sounds like a rattle whenever it runs , so I found that the intake air hose coming from the manifold to compressor has a hole , it was like that for a few days, I noticed that was a lot less smoke coming out from the blow-by and no more oil in the air lines , but after replacing the hose , it went back to the same issue with a lot of smoke coming out from the blow-by and oil in the air lines , along with no more rattling noise from the air compressor when it runs, can someone help me with this issues, ? Thanks

Sounds like engine is getting tired and pushes oil into compressor. When it had a air leak compressor was grabbing some outside air . I’ve seen guys used a home made remote air filter on Detroit's in the past to keep oil outta of airlines. Other than being a little noisy when compressor is pumping it works great at keeping blow by out of air lines.

Oil in the air system? Its the compressor. Only place where engine oil can get in.

Chances are you sucked in a bunch of dirt through the hole in the compressor's inlet line and dusted it.

Blowby is worn piston rings. Weak compression.

Adding pressure to the crankcase causing oil to escape where it shouldn't.
