HR at the new job called me to inform me that my drug test results were back (did it yesterday after I got back from my run). Gotta take a trip to a few fuel racks that I have loading cards for to make sure they haven’t been deactivated for inactivity. So looks like next week will be my last week.

Old Dominion is big in the northeast. Shouldn't have a problem getting hired on up there.

I typo’d a previous response. I don’t live in close proximity to ODFL.

I'm a Systems driver and every day except Monday I waited 4-6 hours past my 10. Last night after waiting 5 hours past my 10, I ran 166 miles only to wait 2 hours for my next hook to go 53 miles to a meet point. Evidently, I was filling in for someone. Got stuck behind an accident and was completely stopped when I called dispatch to let them know I would be late to the meet point. When I arrived the driver asked me what happened. He called them and was told they didnt know. I specifically told them to let him know I would be late.

Went back to the terminal with his freight only to be asked if I would wait an hour and a half for freight to go home. Sure, freight has to move.

Needless to say it's been a long week. Thanks fellas for my rant! Lol

Jesus you've been put through the wringer. You're putting in for the "Long Layover" pay on your days where you qualify, right?

Well, the end of the week was pretty uneventful for me to say the least, with the exception of a dock worker being pulled off the dock on his lift when a hostler didn't check that the door was down at the hub I ran to.

One thing that blows my mind, from the day I gave my notice to the day I left my terminal for good, the terminal manager hadn't said one word to me. Not a "come see me to talk", nothing. Granted, things were icy between him and I after he decided to give me the business when I submitted a fuel receipt for 34 gallons (before I gave notice).

"You only pumped 34 gallons of fuel?"
    "Correct"
"No need to fuel if you only put 34 gallons in it"

I took great issue with this, mainly because it was a complete stroke of luck that a city driver using my truck left me to start with a full tank of fuel and fueling isn't compensated for linehaul, so why should he care if I put 10 gallons in or 100? No need to micromanage me, worry about your dock, I'll worry about maintaining my truck and minimizing any delay that would keep your city drivers from getting on the road as early as possible with freight I'm bringing back.

The senior driver at my barn gave me a sincere "hate to see you go", which kind of tugged at me because we connected really well when I trained with him during my transition to linehaul. Bunch of good guys (with the exception of 1) on that linehaul board, and I'm going to miss all of them.
