This guy I know is telling me he'll transfer his MC number and give me his Amazon carrier account AND his truck (2012 Cascadia single axle w/ 750K) all for 18 grand.

My question is, will Amazon allow you to transfer your relay account? I had my own MC number but it's deactivated. I can activate it again and apply myself without having to buy his truck at a premium, but this guy is telling me it will take months to get approved. Is he lying?

I'm sorry I don't really know a lot about Amazon relay.

The way I understand it it's basically a load board for Amazon and you give them your numbers and you have trailer interchange and you find loads and pull their trailers.

I don't get what all the hoopla is about Amazon. Maybe now coming up to the holidays there might be some pretty good rates but the consensus seems to be that the rates are not that great.

But my own friendly opinion is I would never pay a premium for a truck to get into Amazon of all places. That sounds like a really bad idea to me.

If you are going to reactivate your Authority take all that extra money you would pay him and buy yourself a nice trailer and then you can work anywhere including Amazon.

Never pay a premium to put all your eggs in one basket. That's not a good plan.

He's lying to you. Granted, it was several days of headache filling out their BS application and watching stupid videos, then waiting on approval but really not too big of a deal to get set up on relay. I'm leased on at a carrier and got us set up on it. That was 2 or 3 years ago and none of us have hauled a load from it yet. Complete waste of time imo. You might be better off submitting bids for peak work prior to the season but they did that back in August or thereabouts so you've already missed that boat. Sounds like this guy is wanting to unload some wore out POS truck on you and trying to make you think the Amazon part makes it even better. Anyone can get set up with Amazon...
