Regardless Biden or Trump, market conditions drive change.

Look at coal, despite Trump being President most coal plants are closing as Natural Gas was more profitable for Power Generation.

If someone comes up with cheap solar energy, of course oil/petroleum will vanish even if Trump was in office.

It's funny you said that because for the last month I've been hauling diesel from a coal power plant that shut down to another coal power plant that's going to shut down in 2025. So you're right on the money about that.

Coal will keep going for a while yet, America sells a lot of it to China and other countries, that don't care about the environment.
And as has been said, technology advances, you can't stop it, and when another fuel/propulsion source becomes profitable, plentiful, and able to do the same or more work, we will transition to it. Whether we want to or not. But that will take decades!

    Still undecided Thanks this.

We’ve got Two half mile long coal trains passing by our place a week headed to the 2 man made lake powerplants in Bexar county in San Antonio. They were supposed to shutdown in 2018. Beautiful stainless steel railcars full of low cost energy for the residents of South Texas.

I'd like everybody who is worried about this to look at an anolog clock and watch the second hand for 1 minute. What happens?

It keeps on moving. No matter which party is in power. Life is the same. Fuel will keep moving no matter who is in power. Until some tech makes it obsolete.

My next vehicle will have a four-barrel. We'll get that fuel consumption back up one way or another

I sold my V8 F150 and bought a 4cyl Honda Accord that gets double the MPGs. If Tanker Life loses his job, it's my fault. Sorry Bud.

I'm not aware of an unmanned vehicles being tested. If they can't have unmanned trains running cross country on rails, there's no way they'll have unmanned trucks on public roadways.

The Deely units at the Calaveras station were mothballed at the end of 2018 (thanks alot Obama), but all the other units and stations are fully operational as far as I know.
