I have a 22.5 pound turkey waiting for tomorrow nights dinner.
    That will be fantastic.
Not so fantastic is getting up at 0630 so I can have everything ready for everyone, on a day 'off'.
But I do love making these big meals!

Also fantastic, on my next home time I will have home made turkey soup made by my sister to look forward to.

    dptrucker and dwells40 Thank this.

Between a blowout 30 miles from final and a live unload @ the Albertson's DC I ended up with my 2nd 16 hour day in 2 weeks.

And to think I voluntered to run water there 5 days a week. Hopefully it turns into a drop-n-hook soon.

    Northfield, MN at the J.

I delivered to Home Depot in Eden Prairie this evening, with a nice surprise coming.
My sister made that turkey soup yesterday and she got off work just as I was delivering my load. She met me there with a container of turkey soup for tonight's dinner.

got a new relay driver from Denver. other one retired last sunday.
last 2 trips he was able to get to beaver ut by 1530.
unfortunately I had live unloads on my end which made me get there around 1900.
with winter forecast for the Cajon pass I came here for the nite. so I wouldn't fight the crazies in the morning lol.
not sure yet what time he will get to beaver tomorrow since he has to pick the load up at shipper. last 2 he picked up at Denver terminal.
I should be there around 1400 and hope to get to mesquite nv for my 10. suppose to have snow showers sunday

I would hate to have to lick up a load from a shipper.
    Sounds very untasty.
Picking it up at the terminal sounds much more appetizing.

I'll leave the other funny misquote for some other time.

Since I've been back from home time I seem to have been tethered to the new Costco DC in Owatonna, MN.
Kansas City and back to the area with the next load being Costco, back to Kansas City with a Home Depot load getting me back up there.
I finally got a P&G load to Edwardsville, IL, only to be deadheaded 500 miles straight back to Owatonna to 'help out' at Costco.

I have repeatedly told everyone that I do NOT want that Costco dedicated account, but...
And because of the timing of these loads and the locations I have had to spend the night. it was a week before I could manage to get a shower or laundry done.
That was last night because I could alter my route just enough to get me to a TA.
Good thing, because I had no clean clothes left.

This time it seems to have backfired on them.
I got to Owatonna at around 1600 and did the macro's, with no pplan in sight.
I waited at the DC for a few minutes, then sent a mac 30.
There has been nothing on the mac 30 for a couple months, but a load offer was there this time.
I had expected it to be for Costco, but it wasn't.
Picking up in WI and delivering to Bass Pro DC in Springfield, MO, and I grabbed it fast.

They snoozed, and losed. (I know, they lost. But where is the rhyme in that?)
And after wasting 500 miles deadheading me when an actual load could have been covered getting me closer to where they wanted me.

My DM is with me on this. She said that if it happens again to refuse the load back up to MN.
I run a full region, not just up and down I-35 serving Costco's wants.

    dptrucker Thanks this.

Off to a bit of a late start today because everything iced up overnight.
Then a bit early to shut down because the wind started to get a bit strong. 45 mph gusts and less than 4k in the box.

Good windows for both pick up and delivery, so no problem there.
And I got to the shipper at just the right time. As I was pulling in the other truck was pulling out.
20 minutes to load me and I was on my way.

    dptrucker Thanks this.

Sounds like you have a LOT of time with that load.

Trying your luck at a casino in the meantime?
    Head over to Primm maybe?
