I have my truck dispatched and i have picked loads for my driver myself and my driver has also picked loads himself but not often. a good dispatcher is the only reason things have worked out for me so far. picking loads on your phone in your truck is different from a dispatcher with multiple phones and screens in front of them studying the load board all day. my current dispatcher picks loads that make sense and is not just throwing loads at the driver. They give him suggested loads to pick from and optimize his time and calculate things like weather and traffic to ensure the driver can deliver in a profitable time margin. i have picked loads myself and it is doable but i find a good dispatcher really works. At this point my driver rarely objects loads because the dispatcher has us going in the right direction so far. which is y im looking for another driver.

.60 a mile. $1500 guarantee weekly. That seems to be the going rate in my parts.

I would never pay a percentage but that’s just me.

Sounds like a good setup. A podcast I was listening to the other days was discussing using a dispatch service like that. If I was to get to the point of having my own equipment and numbers I would probably use one too.
