Someone’s got a relatively young Argosy for sale up in Washington state.

Of the 7 trucks I've owned over the last 30 years my 85 k100e with cat power was the most trouble free by far.

Had an older Autocar with a tilt bed on it. Did job site delivery in it. I think it was an old garbage truck they put a flatbed on. Always wore a hard hat driving that truck

Running cabovers, team, 36" sleeper, aahhh, my fondest memories ! All your junk in the sleeper had to be stashed in the jump seat if your co-pilot wanted to lay down.

GMC Asrto with a 318 Detroit, Transtar with a 250 Cummings, 70's Mack with a 325 V-8 mack , Freightliner with a 350 Cummings, 352 Peterbilt with a 290 Cummings, 72 and a 78 Ford with Cummings, the 78 was cab air ride it took a while to get used to.
None of these had air ride suspension, mostly rayco 101.
By far the Freightliner was the better of the bunch, it rode fair and the ac would freeze you .
The 72 Ford was the worst, the cup holders were at the back of the doghouse, I could drink half of a small coke and put the bottle in the cup holder and it would sling coke on the windshield.
I drove all of these in the middle 70's when I first started at 18 years old
My dad owned them , he had a small company, which means I also worked on them.
Don't remember it being all that bad , but I was younger, and would have done anything to get to drive a truck.HighCountry, ButterBean556 and Speed_Drums Thank this. -
The first truck I drove, and learned in was a Ford CL9000. No A\C, just a heater, and an AM radio. Trucks have sure come a long way since then.
ButterBean556 and Badmon Thank this. -
