    Hey Everyone!

I'm a posting newbie with two quick questions. I've been driving for Estes for about 11 years. However, I'm thinking of transferring from AZ to TX since my aging parents live there.

    1. Does Estes perform a background check on employees that transfer? I got into some legal trouble right after they hired me, and the conviction's on my record (no legal issues at all before or after that mess).
    2. Does anyone have info on the largest Dallas terminals? You know about the TM, life as a Combo Driver, and things. I've asked around at my local terminal but can't seem to find any good intel.

With regards to the criminal stuff, I doubt it. But, if the criminal stuff was 7 years ago or longer there is little chance it would affect you if they did.

Hopefully they aren’t charged that would complicate a new hazmat background when you convert your license.

Thank you. I hope that he/she responds.

Yes, the charges were about 10 years ago. They did complicate my hazmat background in the beginning, but I was able to appeal and obtain a waiver. It's no longer an issue due to the amount of time that has passed since the conviction.

Thank you as well. I'm hoping to get some feedback soon. My parents really need my help so I think I'll try to transfer at the first of the year.

    1. No. You're already hired. No need for all that. You might get hit for another slew of random drug tests tho. I've been tested 11 times in 3 months. No I haven't transferred to TX yet. I plan on it.

    2. TM is cool in Dallas. Life as combo is the same but you'll make less money because you're coming from Estes West. If you didn't know, Estes is 1 big company made of two. Estes, and Estes West. You guys on the west get paid a little more. Too much to explain. A $10 drop and hook becomes $8 and so on.

Curious about the transfer policy with Estes. When one does transfer does all of his time with the company go with him if going into the same position but different state? Also does the pay go with you too, say if your topped out up north and go south does it just go to whatever the top rate is down south or does your pay start from the beginning?

When you transfer, your seniority is frozen for 90 days. I do linehaul right? If I transfer to Dallas, I'd have to go to the extra board for 90 days. After 90 days, I get my seniority back and I can get on runs etc. Company seniority doesn't change or freeze, pay doesn't change unless you go from Estes West to regular Estes and vice versa, etc.
