Do some research on what it actually costs to operate a Truck Stop. If you are not willing to pay to park....... don't! I just assures there will be one available for me. As a matter of fact, I am on my way to TA Ontario West. I'll get my ticket on the way in. Park my truck. Go inside and spent $20.00 on $#!+ that I am going to but somewhere anyways. Leave tomorrow morning. Hand the guy at the gate my parking ticket and the receipt for my minimum purchase. Go on my merry way to my delivery tomorrow morning. I will probably pick up some other douchebags trash and throw it in the can while I am there, and hopefully not park where some inconsiderate pig dumped his piss bottle in the parking lot.

They wouldn't be able to do it if people didn't pay for it.

Be a hero and keep on going. ;)

A Truck Stop is not in business so you have a place to park. Like EVERY company, they are in business to provide a necessary or desired product or service and to turn a profit (make money). That is Capitalism! The current form of government the United States of America, at least sort of for a little while longer I hope and pray! If you just use it as a place to park for 10 hours (or longer), and do not purchase fuel, a service or product from them, you COST THEM MONEY! Would any of us start a Barber Shop and cut hair for free? A Coffee Shop and give away coffee? A restaurant and give away food? OF COURSE NOT. I have operated a couple of successful businesses, and several not so successful ones in my brief 60 years on this planet. It in NOT EASY! Far from it in fact. When I was is High School, I took a class called Free Enterprise. I have never forgotten some of the things I learned in that class. Even though lots of it seemed like " why are they teaching this crap". I could go on, but............that is the end of today's introduction to economics class. Carry on.:3some::biggrin_2551:

I use paid parking occasionally and the only problem I've had with it is one time the reserved spot was taken by a someone who refused to pay and the people at the Pilot/J wouldn't or couldn't do anything about it.

I think they charge to much for parking. Their was a post on here I think that was from TA/Petro an internal memo. It was say how much money they are making off paid parking at a couple truck stops. It was crazy high number.

They should make drives want to come to their truck stops offer something we would pay for vs chase customers out of parking lot with paid parking. I remember also when the restaurants used to full with drives eating and now they are empty. Plus TA/Petro closed them for covid-19. We learned as drivers to do without the restaurant even more now. No reason to go back to them. It probably the new way of trucking today.

I'm still waiting to see it TA/Petro go out of business or they can keep open. I see more restaurants open but they are empty. Remember when they that 24/7 buffet at truck stops

I think most drivers don't buy anything at the truckstops is cause of the inflated prices they charge

I can hardly believe I saw anyone eating at Country Pride even before the pandemic. The food quality and taste is just so poor there.

I met one guy parked next to me at a Pilot who openly admitted that he would not pay for the spot in which he already parked on the account of the amount of money his company spends for fuel at Pilots. He even put that "reserved" sign in front of him to camouflage himself better. Later he was found out and ordered to leave. He was so infuriated by that turn of events that he took off like a mad man raming through that sign made of steel which entangled somewhere underneath the bumper, dragging it against asphalt, making sparks which in the middle of that night looked spectacular.
What surprised me is that the man was not some foreigner who still struggles grasping the notion of private property but a regular middle aged American.

Yes. What they serve at TA and Petros dineries, except for a cheeseburger or a simple breakfast menu here and there, is absolutely distasteful. Especially, that the prices are quite steep.
Now, when the buffets are thing of the past, perhaps they should take examples from other places...e g. 83 diner in York, PA...I 83 exit 28 or even the little kitchen style at Little Americas both in WY and AZ.
