I must be a solar powered driver. :) When possible I start at 3AM or so and park in the early afternoon.

I couldn't agree more. It's also the cesspool of mega carrier drivers, I just can't stand when I have to fuel at that Love's in Ina,IL for instance. For me, they have no redeeming qualities. Garbage food, cluster parking lot, I avoided them and Pilots like the plague before I came back to company driving.

The Loves in Ina is on the older side and isn't so nice, though that parking lot is on the larger size for a Loves.

That said, don't know if you noticed but there's a new Loves that just opened in Marion, Illinois on I-57 about half an hour south of the Loves in Ina, IL. I haven't been to it yet, I bet it's real nice though I really like the newer Loves. Hopefully it doesn't fill up real fast like the new one in Oak Grove, Kentucky on I-24 does.

You're good, some good responses in this thread! Loves isn't for everybody but I really like the new ones. I agree that a lot of the older ones are crap and are not really nice. Somebody mentioned Loves doesn't clean the showers so good and uses the old towels to wipe them down, I think it just depends on which location you go to. I'm pretty sure Loves has a procedure where they have to spray a cleaning/sanitizing chemical, but obviously they get short handed sometimes and just do a quick clean. I'm sure it's probably like that at the other truck stops chains as well, where it just depends on location/time of day but who knows.

Yeah I think Minnesota is a real opportunity for Loves and I hope to see them open up some more around the state. The Loves in Albert Lea is nasty I don't ever stop there unless it's absolutely necessary. I know Albert Lea is south of Minneapolis, but Loves really needs to build a Loves going in all directions outside of Minneapolis. Like they do in St Louis and many other cities. Speaking of Albert Lea, it would be nice to see Loves put in between Sioux Falls and Albert Lea. Maybe in Fairmont or somewhere close to there.

That is why I carry a spray bottle of 60/40 bleach water and spray everything down with bleach.

Chicago and San Diego are the biggest cities I can think of that lack any truck stops. The Chicago area has a couple in the suburbs I know, but San Diego has none!

I-57 exit 212, Tuscola, Illinois loves just opened last week. Which is great news because the lambos truck stop a couple blocks west won't be packed with steering wheel holders anymore.
