Lol! You meed to come visit. We’re a free state with no income tax and a high standard of living. More McMansions than trailer parks, at least in my area. NW Florida. Sugar white sands. Great restaurants. Memorial Day weekend you’d feel right at home.

Just kidding. Inside joke. You wouldn’t know unless you lived here.

I thought he made it until the rears slipped into the ditch. Instead of trying to power out and get the load righted, he made the fatal error of trying to back out which made it slip down further and of course shifted.

    Bud A. Thanks this.

He was screwed the second the left four rear tires on the trailer sank down, down, down in that soft dirt above the culvert. I don't think he could power out because those wheels would have continued to offtrack even more into an even deeper part of the ditch, and probably would have dug in even further. I think the trailer would have tipped either way. The solution at that moment was to stop and call a wrecker to pull the trailer out of the ditch, but no one wants to call the boss to tell them about the wrecker bill if they think they can power out of the problem.

What really kills me is the people commenting (must be the homeowners) understand the problem and the solution better than the driver. The driver hesitated and even backed up a bit when he saw how tight the corner was. The homeowner says, "Why didn't he just go straight?" Exactly correct! He could have turned up the street, straightened out, backed up so the trailer was as far left as possible, then made another left-hand turn onto the street he was trying to get on. I've done that more than once when delivering flatbed loads in neighborhoods like this.

I can't even feel sorry for the driver. Maybe I'm a bad person for that, I don't know.

    gentleroger and daf105paccar Thank this.
