I’m being spoiled gravy for breakfast and gravy for dinner. Leaving on Sunday is going to be hard.

Gravy is nice, but having some meat to pour it on is better. ;)

Ok, so this is 2 days in a row, that at about this same time, I am entering the food overload zone. The food wins.

Did something different this year for gravy and it worked great. My biggest complaint about gravy is that there is never enough. So this year I bought a turkey thigh and got it good and brown with a little oil in a deep pan. I kept de-glazing the pan with some water to break up all that good brown stuff stuck to the bottom. Then I covered it with water, added a little seasoning and put the lid on for a couple hours to let it simmer and reduce a bit. I even threw in the neck from the turkey for added flavor. After it simmered for a while, there was just a little fat on top and darn near 2 quarts of drippings. I thickened it up with some flour and it was as good as any turkey gravy I've ever made. We all had a lot with dinner last night, and there is plenty leftover to eat for a few days.
