Family finds hidden room behind a bedroom closet

Construction workers have been known to leave objects inside the walls and other inaccessible spaces for time immemorial.

A former truck driver probably worked on the construction site of this condo.

Personally I love secret passageways. Don’t see them all that often though.

I have a video of a cool way to hide a safe but I guess it’s too big to upload.

 

When me and my fiance bought our house we always noticed a manhole on our walkway into our back door. We always thought it was for city water access because that's what it said on the manhole. What went right over our heads is the fact that we have well water and a septic tank, no city anything. I got curious and opened it up one day and it appeared to be some kind of fallout shelter at one time. There's a ladder going down and a bunch of shelves, concrete walls and a concrete floor. The house was built in the mid 40's. I'd love to know what it was used for and what was kept there

 

I remeber when my dad was getting his house built. When they were framing it, one of the framers put a bottle of coca cola inside on of the 2x4s where they intersected.

 

Root cellar. Storage for potatoes, onions. Canned goods. Underground won't freeze.

 

Might be a bomb shelter added in the 50s or early 60s. Anyone else remember "duck and cover"?
