KW... new issue since the breakdown and dealership visit... but the repair was a new fuel pump/filter/screen... so I highly doubt there’s a connection. Just odd timing.

but ya, freight has deadlines too.
As to your question, I’ve only been here 5 months but seems FCC really leaves many of the decisions about planning the trip in the hands of the Driver. (Except fueling) and while I HAVE had a handful of very tight runs, they normally have a very large window with which to pickup or deliver. Unless it’s a scheduled only location.
I would describe, at least my limited experience here, you normally park where you want and then drop during your 11/14 and roll out to your next load. It took me a bit to change my habit of parking on site to avoid starting my clocks in the morning after 10 and delivery but we have awesome planners here so one is rarely waiting for their next load for that to be an issue.
BUT... I’ll park just about anywhere and never felt unsafe nor gotten a ticket (ya, just jinxed myself I know) ... shipper, receiver, mall parking lot, on ramps, off ramps, even once beside a corn field. Never felt unsafe. To be honest, I prefer to avoid Truck Stops for my 10 if possible.
if you are considering FCC, you are considering a GREAT company... drivers are respected not abused... very professional people... they do their jobs and we do our jobs... it works.cdavis188, gntorres61, Loner2legs and 3 others Thank this. -
I kind of thought FCC wouldn't force drivers to sleep on public roads outside the warehouses overnight if they didn't feel comfortable doing that, based off the reviews in this thread. But I just wanted to make sure.
Thanks for the reply!MidWest_MacDaddy Thanks this. -

Well after 7 days at the house it was back to reality today. Loaded in Matthews, NC ( I’ve never loaded here before) going to Topeka, Kansas for a drop. It will most likely be Wednesday morning before I get there. My scheduled load time was 1400, I eased on over there about noon, they had me in a door about 1230 and had my bills in hand at 1530.
My truck is supposed to be done at the Freightliner dealer in Omaha tomorrow. The coolant loss was due to a bad EGR cooler, nox sensor replaced, and a rear pinion seal replaced. Hopefully the truck issues will be done for awhile, it hasn’t been a very profitable month.Vic Firth, RebelChick, MidWest_MacDaddy and 1 other person Thank this. -
