Who are you currently working for? I drove Groendyke last year and took a lot of stuff out of Houston up north and then Chicago back to Houston.

I've run loads from Houston to Chicago, Cincinnati, Milwaukee and other points in the Great Lakes region that were pretty descent but that was during the three "good" seasons. I even went to northern PA and NJ a couple of times out of Houston and our terminals in Florida and NC but I honestly have no desire to go to those places in the winter which I know will eventually happen if I stick w/ OTR system driving. Another reason to try and get something local / regional closer to Houston.
I'll give Groendyke a look. What was the pay and home time like w/ that company? -
MYSTYKRACER Thanks this.

I haven't pulled one of their loads for quite a while but PeroxyChem has a small fleet out of Pasadena (?). They only haul hydrogen peroxide in different purity levels. We used to get some of their surplus loads. All the PeroxyChem drivers I have ever talked to seemed pretty happy. Just a suggestion. Good luck!

Don't be afraid to apply to places even after just 1 year exp. Where I work now advertised they required 5 years and/or 550k miles (winter driving specifically)...I applied did 3 interviews, and was hired. Now that I've been here all year, I know why they want 5 years of winter driving. Tankers on ice is a GD joke....
