I think that yesterday was just a slow Monday, like many Mondays before. My tomorrow's radius does not look bad at all. 1571 loads for tomorrow.

So what you're saying is the Freight Brokers and DAT are conspiring to stick it to the carriers? Pretty strong assessment ;-)

I find the numbers to be pretty average to what I see happening out here, but who wants to be average? Still, I do like that they send these graphs out. It's another useful tool in seeing the big picture and where you fit in it at a give time.

My understanding is that DAT buys factoring company data to determine their averages, so it's whatever the factoring company got from Carrier A for load going from A to B, irrespective of the nuance. Make of that what you will.

I always figured they mined data from their TMS system clients as well.

Maybe. I gotta wonder how many folks are using their TMS though.

Truckstop.com is similar, they are also pretty large factoring, so they show their averages from that.

Average it is but gives me an idea where the average point is so I try to at least get that. Sometimes, they want to lowball you below average then referring to that DAT figure could be a useful argument. The rate those averages were changing in the last few months was faster than my mindset...so a few times those averages helped me out to adjust. LOL

Id say a lot. And if it was only through factoring, they wouldn’t know the contract rate?
