Believe it or not, there have been a couple of ladies on here that were driving for, or had driven for Celedon.

This is a GREAT point. "I sure do miss that job that had me walking around with NO money in my pocket." Lol

I know that Baylor out of Milan IN picked up quite a few Celadon drivers. Covered transportation expenses for those that needed it and all. CFI seemed to be the one taking in as many lease guys as they could.

I for the life of me cannot understand being so poverty stricken driving a truck that one could not at least get a rental car to get yourself and your belongings home. Unless you were a student or someone in the process of a major life change I just don’t get it. I seem to recall a number of carriers even offering to reimburse!

I saw a Pete pulling a Celadon trailer with it's company logo loud and proud on it the other day. No attempt to remove it. I wonder where he got it from.

Ive seen quite a few southern Texas and Chicago white Volvo outfits dragging them the same way. Most still even have the Celadon branded Indiana license plate. Makes you wonder if they’re just grabbing an abandoned one from wherever they find it and using as is

I remember seeing a couple of their trailers sitting at the Walmart DC in Monroe,Georgia. A couple of their drivers came to work for Marten. They said they were running team down near Tampa when they got the news over the QUALCOMM that the company had ceased operations.

    bzinger and LtlAnonymous Thank this.

I guess when Celadon got under new management, the new executives probably thought it was too much of a whole dig out of.

Well...we don't know everyone's situation at home. Some lived too far above their means. Some have to pay ungodly amounts of child support, alimony, or fines. There are many people that get crippled having kids, divorces, or legal issues. It's a fine line driver, one mistake can cause years of heartache. Some people live in parts of the country where the average trucker salary is barely enough to get by. I know folks say, "Well just move somewhere else." It ain't always that easy. Not everyone can just make sudden life changes. I always say this, but we have to resist the urge of painting every driver with the same brush.

Actually I would have never thought that. I always assume that people pay for their equipment until proven otherwise.
