Yeah, I know UCR. I just wanted to make sure HUT wasn't like an every state kinda thing. You can only find so much research until you have to just live it.

The a major hurdle I see is, how would one go about actually registering a combo like this.? When jonny law sees that registration saying 36,000lbs they are going to think "CDL required" every time, IMO.. I'd be concerned about spending so much time having to prove innocence, there'd be no time to get any trucking done.! lol
Then if ones plans on running interstate it will need IFTA & IRP apportioned plates. (Something most non cdl folk are trying to avoid) If not you'll be buying trip permits for each state around $40 a pop, & will get pricey pretty quick..
I do remember the 3 pack car hauler truck you posted about not long ago. That would make it easier to keep the wagon under 10k with only one it.. I was getting greedy & thinking of a 2 place wagon with the axles mounted towards the rear. That way the hitch will carry alot of the weight. It may get kinda squirrelly with too much on the tongue though!!One might be able to load 2 sprinters, or some other type of high profile vehicle that pays a premium.. LoL
A long time ago on a hotshot forum, saw something similar to this a CA based operation was trying to run to keep away from being CDL A. That's what gave me the idea.. 3pack truck + 1 car wagon is probably the safer bet...

@LiteBug
When you started, how hard was it for you to book loads? Since most brokers don't like new authorities...singlescrewshaker and Mojo1960 Thank this. -

Yeah, I figured. I mean, I have a long career record in Hotels, Real Estate and customer service, so talking professionally with confidence isn't an issue. I'm sure I'll be nervous as all get out. Inside I'll be like "oh jesus, *sweating*, I gotta book this load..." Hahahahaha!
