Didn't Western Express offer a job to you?
If there's a cdl school near you, make a visit and ask which companies are hiring their students.
Did you try BioTrans in Bangor?
    H.O. Wolding
    Star Transportation
    Schneider

It's best to submit the online application before calling. A regular Email may get lost among 100's of emails a company receives each day.

Don't believe everything drivers say about a company being bad. Abilene has an excellent reputation and many drivers have been there 10 years or more.

Same with Swift; people badmouth the company and it's usually those that haven't worked there. Swift has drivers that have been there 10 or 20 years

Have you looked at Prime Inc? They have a dedicated account with Walmart in Lewiston and also haul a lot of paper out of the Sappi Somerset mill.

    Chinatown Thanks this.

If you are overweight, prime requires all applicants to do the "duck walk". The duck walk can not be done by overweight people.

Swift is off my list. I called the recruiter number that I was sent in an email. She said "according to my cell phone number and zip code, They don't hire from my area nor haul in the area". She got my information from CDL life or some website where I inquired about Swift. Next. This is the same game I played in 2009 when I got first got my Class A. Thanks for the advice.

I just looked at their application and they list a long list of medical conditions that don't qualify a driver to work for them. I am a diabetic and have sleep apnea. Seems like they want a young fellow to work for them. I have no problem passing a DOT physical. Thanks for the advice.

I have seen BioTrans advertising on Indeed. I may call them tomorrow. Their website is having issues in my browser. H.O. Wolding only offers OTR for people in my area of Maine. I haven't heard of Star. I will check them out. Schneider, according to their website, only offers 2-3 weeks OTR or a Jet Set option where you fly to locations and are out longer. If 2-3 weeks OTR is my only option, I will keep looking even if it takes me longer to find what I am looking for driving work.

A couple more companies I thought of that might be worth looking into...

    HO Bouchard
    Richard Carrier
    Waste Management
    Sysco, PFG, etc
    Sargent
    Lane Construction
RF Chamberlain (they’re in St. Agatha, a long ways from you, but would be better than a mega)

if I think of more Maine companies I’ll add them later. Of the above mentioned, HO would be my choice. I know a few people that drive for them and enjoy working there. Good luck and stay positive and motivated, you’ll get it
