I can't speak for the other companies that were around but we all worked the same and got paid the same. 10 months was longer than harvest season anyway so it works out pretty well.

Only if the gov't and ATA dont find some other way to put you out of the truck! Has anyone else noticed how much harder it will be to get and keep a valid medical card??? Just look at some of the thingd the Medical Review Board wants to look at as medically disqualifing conditions! Sleep Apnea testing, BMI, mental health issues. it is unreal the stuff that they want to use to kick us out of the truck! All in the name of safety, of course!

Wow! You are old! I can remember my Dad wearing OD green fatigues. I used to "borrow" my Dad's OD green field jacket when they switched to the now old woodland pattern camo.

I am not a Constitutional Law student at all. but doesnt this new legislation look like an example of "Ex post facto", that is "after the fact" type of rule?
If I understand this POS legislation correctly, the DOT is going to go back 3 YEARS and every violation or ticket or inspection is going to come back and affect my safety rating today, right?
Doesnt that seem like "double jeopardy", or being punished for the same offense twice?
Another thought: each offense is given a point value based on the possiblility of that offense causing a wreck, right?
Well, how can they justify going back in the past 3 YEARS to punish me for an overweight ticket or broken headlite if it DIDNT CAUSE A WRECK??? No blood, no foul, we would saw as kids.
Can anyone explain to me how the score is calculated? I saw the chart which detailed how many points for each and every specific violation, but it doesnt tell me how, for example, a 7 pt violation is going to affect my rating. Additionally, the material I read doesnt say how many points you could lose before being declared "marginal" or "unfit". Is there another website where I could get more info or do any of the LEOs on here have any 1st hand knowledge?

Ok, I finally went to the link provided in the first post and found, not a government site, but a site marketing online training. The basic gist being... "Buy our training or all of your drivers will be fired or die in horrible fiery crashes!"

Um... yeah. And be sure to watch the eleven o'clock news or your children will die.:biggrin_25526:

After doing some more research, I have learned that while the Federal and State gov'ts are not allowed to create "ex post facto" laws or "retroactive" laws, regulatory agencies are allowed to do so if it accomplishes their mandated goals. But! this new rule CSA 2010 seems to me to be a textbook example of double jeopardy! That is being punished muliple times for the same offense. Surely I'm not the only person to see that! (cuz I'm just a dumb trucker) I wonder if OOIDA has anything to say about this??? One would think they would as it will most certainly have a negative effect on their money, oops members!!!
    What say you, OOIDA???
