Yep been rolling with these guys for 2+ years now. Like every company they have the pros an cons but so far this place has a lot of pros. For the states you mentioned at the moment due to size and maybe choice it’s just not profitable to run their. They may have different permits and stuff we have to go by and it’s just an added cost but this company actually put money toward the drivers. We might go to those states eventually with the exception of Cali cuz I mean let’s face it the cost for a truck to go in an out of that state is insane but Arizona, Nevada NM I see maybe a few years down the road. They aren’t forced dispatch out of MN and ND but just remember you might have to take a shorty to get the longer run! As far as shops I do prefer Fargo. They are remodeling right now and hopefully their will be showers and laundry their but will see. Drivers lounge in Coon rapids is pretty good with full kitchen and separate tv room so that’s a plus. Only thing I can say is Coon rapids is kind of a free for all as far as reefer trailers and they don’t have was out facilities their because of some stupid city ordinances that prevent magnum from having a trailer washout bay....hell blue beacon doesn’t even have a place throughout the whole state but you can find 3rd party places if you need a washout. Worked for 2 companies prior to this one just to plant my feet on the ground and so far I’m pretty happy with this place. All I can say is....give it a shot....work and I mean work don’t go home every 3 weeks otherwise your literally screwing yourself unless you have some big savings and can afford that. Good luck

 

I’m one of those who require maybe a week off every year, I just prefer not to be driving through the crap snow and ice belt, and I know most of their terminals are smack dab in the -60 zone, where do they usually have you run, is the miles consistent, as if I could make 1g a week after taxes I wont complain, last company I drove OTR for they had a lot of 300 mile weeks, instead of deal with that I would rather stay at my LE job and enjoy all the nonsense.

 

the three months I've been here I've made 900 to 1300 after taxes average has been right around 1000. I can't comment on the average areas quite since I'm still so new I've been all over TX TN GA one time FL. Did a run to Utah and Idaho. I live in VA so there's a Michael foods in NJ I've done twice.

 

So what states do you tend to run, are you in the south much, you can also send me a message offline as well.

 

Me personally Id say midwest and south. At some point you'll go to MN or ND and get a route out of there. And it's not force dispatched but I don't refuse because even the short run will get you to the long haul one. But so far I've done alot of the fort worth area delivery and pick up. I've been to PA, NC once, GA once, FL once. Utah once and idaho once. Farthest state of north east we go to is NJ anything above that we don't go or at least I haven't gone to. If you're looking for a good otr this is it. My 2 years of driving has been regional most of it has been JB Hunt. This place is night and day of treatment. This place is great at communicating to there drivers. Except the coon rapids MN shop again screw them. I with you I'm not a fan of the midwest winter but I'm getting used to it. If you don't feel safe in the snow or ice. Shutdown no negative will come to you. I've talked to at least 20 different drivers all say they don't want you to chain go shutdown chains are in truck for legal. But so far I'm absolutely loving it. I'm heading home this Friday. I've been since I got hired minus the 34 hours I was packing up my truck. When I sent my home time request for all week of Christmas it hot approved within a few mins. They don't care how long you go home but after 30 days you'll have to take a drug test. Just as long you do minimum 3 weeks out

 

I’ve been with Magnum coming up on four years now. My average pay check after taxes is $1175-1200 / week and that’s after taxes, HSA, insurance and 401k deductions. I’ve found it to be a really great reefer company. Especially after dealing with Prime where I first started out. One thing that is a great advantage with Magnum is that we never pick up meats (pork, chicken, or beef) or produce at what I call “basic processing” plants, where live animals are coming in one door and the basic butchered product is going out the other. In the case of produce you have product coming straight from the field to be shipped. The wait times at those kinds of plants is insane (7-20 hrs). I occasionally get a long wait but Magnum pays detention as well as layover and break down pay.

 

After 4 years, what are they paying by the mile AND HOW MANY ARE YOU RUNNING A WEEK? Are you talking 1100-1200 GROSS?!

 

I can already say that's net cause that's my typically my net. I've been here 3 months. Since I have my hazmat I get 48 cpm

 

How many miles are you running to get that on .48?

 

I average over $1000 take home a week. so long as I don’t hit anything I’m getting 62 cents a mile. 2500-3000 miles a week
