Just wait, they'll pass a law that says constitutional rights no longer apply to truckers.

And then justify it in the name of "safety". :biggrin_25513:

My take is that they have not yet set a standard and will be "grading on the curve" as they activate each state. It looks like your grade will be relative to all other drivers grades. He who has the most points loses, or 1% loses or 2% or some other arbitrary number. Drivers with less than 3 inspections or no points are excluded from the calculation. Points are reduced by 1/3 as they age and the way to improve your rating is to have a clean inspection. Get you and your truck ready and then turn yourself in. Improve your score by harrassing the coup.

Dave I would think that when this new system gets implemented then HOPEFULLY this kind of thing cold go away and your company just do the right thing and get you running safe again.

It's gong to be CYA, CYA CYA by documenting.

Ain't nothing gonna change, for the better, for the drivers. Everything that has been changed in the last 48 years, my years in transportation, has not improved the life of a trucker. As matter of fact, every change has hurt the driver, not helped him. And this bull #### that is coming down the pike is just another form of harassment.

As always, the burden is resting on the driver's shoulder. The government is not going after the companies, it is the drivers that is going to be "under the gun". Try reporting a company for violations and see just how far you get.:biggrin_2559:

Wow! 48 years! I havnt been doing this nearly as long as you, nut I think you are correct! The reason it never gets better for the driver is that the driver has absolutely nothing to do with the rule making process! It's all these special interest groups that are "in the drivers' seat". Most of the people writing these rules couldnt tell the difference between a steering wheel and a 5th wheel, yet they "know" what's best for trucking???

Substitute "has" for "will" and you will have it right.
