There is a huge market difference with a midwest dry van and a pnw curtain van maxi set up.... That is not even close to the same ballgame...... All i said was i ran that region most of the year and saw the number for myself.... A curtain van is not hauling much different than a flatbed with a maxi setup they are hauling more weight thats it..... And the pay per hundred weight lumber is laughable to say the least....i know more than one guy with a maxi setup running that same region and its no surprise they go back to running step or flat..... Like i said good for him........

My buddy has been running curtain van for over a decade now.
He's run refrigerated, dry and flat over the years.
He likes what he's doing and has found a niche.
Which is as always, most important to anyone's ultimate perspective and experience.
Ain't my cup of tea, but eh, good for him.Dale thompson Thanks this. -

I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas! As I stated earlier I'm off until at least Monday. If something comes up that suits my fancy for the last few days of the year, I'll do it. If not, I'm cool.
I thought I'd post up my December numbers through today the 24th, since this is a thread about ratesThis ain't nothing to write home about it, but I'm happy, and you all do want me to be HAPPY, right? LOL
It goes without saying that I am loving not having a truck or trailer payment at this point. Even though all of my fixed expenses like insurance, etc, are paid forward through 2021, I still include those costs as a part of my monthly fixed expenses.
Starting January I will bump my truck maintenance escrow up to $0.20 a mile, now that the truck is paid off.
Here's to hoping for some good waves in 2021!
