    If anything I'd say vans would be in more need of a headache rack. I've unloaded more than a couple vans where there are 2-4k lb pieces of equipment on pallets, just set on the floor. Zero securement.

    I use 12 trailer straps plus 3-4 hand straps and 2 chains on a 45k load lol there is no such thing as over securement in my book

    We haul aluminum coils out of Hammond IN on flatbeds and I see countless van trailers bump the dock, get loaded, then shut the doors and leave. They're hauling the same exact thing I am and all they do is block it to the floor with a 2x4. Meanwhile I'm throwing chains and binders. Absolutely ridiculous

    I had a shipment of parts show up in a 53' van. About 18-20 skids and probably about 2,500 to 3,000 lbs each. Just placed on the floor. No dunnage nailed down or nothing. One hard brake and he'd have had all that in his sleeper.

    I don't understand how that kind of loading is legal. Those van trailers have no integrity whatsoever. Everytime you see one that's wrecked the whole trailer looks like a slinky.

    Well, assuming we’re talking about 20 normal size skids with nothing pinwheeled, a 53’ trailer holds 26.

    I’d nose load 10 and cross strap them, then skip 2 rows and put load bars up which would hold the rest.

    Saw one of those trucks hauling those take a tight circular exit and the coil rolled the trailer over and rolled out the side and down the hill.

    How in the world can it be legal to haul those like that in a van.

    There's so many different kinds it's hard to say. I hauled 3105's which are generally 10-15k per coil. I had roughly 46k on with 4 so about 11k a piece
