I have a Coleman 40 Qt Cooler. I drive a Volvo car hauler day cab. I verified the correct fuse size for the cig lighter circuit.
My problem is that it blows fuses. I mean it'll work for about a day or two and then it will blow a fuse. I've actually had this cooler for quite a while and it was stored in storage for about 5 years. The last time I used it I had a sleeper model truck and I don't remember having this problem. A while back I attempted to change my eating habits by using a cooler and creating meals at home. I stay in hotels every night and I'm gone for about 4 nights a week. So my question is, do any of you know of a great cooler that is approximately 40 quart and draws low current? Or maybe you may have some suggestions based on the information that I submitted?
Oh and one more thing. Many coolers run continuously. I think that's a big part of the problem. Be nice to find one that stops for awhile to let things cool down.

MooneyBravo and krupa530 Thank this. -
Update:
I dropped my truck off at the shop. They're going to hardwire it down to the battery with an inline fuse on the positive cable and a switch. -
As the fan gets dirty or the fan bearings get dirt or wear it will draw more power.

Thermoelectric cooling sucks some big juice. Just grab one of the $600 Amazon fridges, I love mine.
