You should. When I feel like it & I have time I do it on certain subjects I hear being talked about in my presence. Certain people are not misinformed they are straight lying and trying to con people. Expose them. Happy New Year

I won't ever do a lease purchase. My last 2 trainers are contract. They have both been doing it over 2 years. Settlements show netting around 70k. But that is with a trainee part of the time.

BS...I’m sorry. I never saw Prime push a lease on anyone. That’s crap. YOU decide and tell them. Zero pressure.this sounds recruiter specific to me and I’m at Prime now and know a bunch of current drivers. I know quite a few happy with the lease. I’ve calculated it and running solo you just can’t make enough after all the payments to make it worthwhile for the amount of time you have to stay out. I was going to do it after my training but I realized I want to do something like FEDEX, Line Haul/LTL where I’m only out like 5 days at a time. OTR it boring and just not for me...but the kicker is I can’t get any of those jobs without OTR experience. Found a couple companies that will take on people with 6 months and even recent school graduates that I’m going to apply to.I’m at one month TNT training with prime bored out of my mind. Already know the job..can back fairly well and drive well...this isn’t rocket science. But I did not have the experience to get the jobs I want yet so here I sit.::

I used to work in house at Prime and some people in this thread have the wrong idea about what is going on here. Prime isn't trying to force or coerce or bully a lease on anyone. She simply lives in an area that Prime is not willing to hire a company driver from due to difficulties getting them in and out of the house. I'm guessing she lives somewhere in the middle of nowhere, not close to Reno or LV. They are simply offering her a lease as an alternative to flat out telling her "no" so she can be the one to make the home time decisions.

With that being said, these lease programs at these starter companies, or even any company, are not something you want to get yourself into. They are poor business decisions. They are very difficult to be successful with, they are risky, and they are set up overwhelmingly favorably to the leasor rather than the leasee. Even the people who are happy and successful in their lease at Prime like the poster directly above me referred to are leaving 10s of thousands of dollars on the table every year. If they would have worked as a company driver for a little bit to learn the industry, saved money for a down payment on their own truck and an emergency fund, and then start operating their own truck while applying the same work ethic they used to be successful in their Prime lease, they would find themselves in a much better situation in the long run.

If you can get Prime to bring you on as a company driver though, you could do a whole lot worse for a first company. If I had to start from square one again, I would choose Prime again.

Prime settled a class action and still acts like they did nothing wrong but:

I would second the location of her home as the reason . They can’t get her profitability in or out of the house. So if she wants a job it’s on her..........
