I do not know if you are inferring that I have said that in reference to your posts or not.

I have said that several times, never with you in mind whatsoever.

But the new owner operator should know that it isn't just let the good times roll.

Plenty of people for a myriad of reasons have lost everything in this business.

That's why giving good advice is so important.

I received free money too. $1800.00. I don't know if that money does me good or bad. Since everyone else got it, I have no choice but keep it too. Funny because, I came back from PA to WI to unload tomorrow for just as much. Now I can't help the feeling that all that work is devalued now.
LOL. I am saying this half jokingly....

I happened to eavesdrop a conversation between two "destitute" men who were changing shifts here at a intersection while I was waiting for the green light.
So one says to another: "Man, in the last hour one guy gives me 20 then 10 minutes later another 20, and again I got 20 before you showed up".
That would have been fine by me - after all it was Christmas time- had I not heard what sounded like a contemptuous laugh.

Interestingly, after told the story to my wife she said that at another intersection there was a "destitute" lady who was wore jacket and boots from Kelvin Kline or something like that and.... even had a purse and make up on her face, cause I saw her too the next day LOL.

It makes me wonder if there is already too much money in circulation or there is this panhandling sport in fashion now. For some, obviously, money is spilling over.

 

There is no shortage of scammers out there attempting to pull on your heart strings to separate you from your money. Most of those who hang out on street corners, freeway off ramps and at truck stops are just running a scam. I can't tell you how many times I've watched a person fold their sign up and walk to a nice newer car and drive home. These people aren't desperate or homeless, but they want you to think they are. I'm happy to give what I can to people who are truly in need, but you have to know how to recognize them and avoid being swindled by the scammers.
