Freightliner 2016 XC (Cummins ISL 8.9) Oil Recommendations

    Hello, I would like to know what kind of oil you use for your Freightliner?

    I was doing a search because I just bought my first rig and want to flush everything out and found this which looks good but everyone I ask tells me something different.

    I found this:
    2016 Freightliner XC Series recommended synthetic oil and filter
    I like the fact that everything for my Freightliner is on one page, itching to just buy everything and change everything as I need maximum uptime.

    Owners manual will tell you exactly what is recommended.

    IMO oil and lubricant manufacturers just hype up their products. Its all the same just as long as it meets whatever spec/designation the manufacturer requires.

    Go for it! Amsoil is the best synthetic oil out there. I have been using it since 1977 in every vehicle I own.
