I did similar, except I was OTR and looking for another OTR company. Started filling out those post card applications at truck stops and soon landed a new OTR job hauling boats from the factory to dealerships 48 states.

Get your hazmat and tank if you don't already have. Once you have those apply at Estes place closet to you. Hope for the best.

If road is that bad for you might wanna just find a regional place offers home weekends. Later on go for LTL when you get experience and can apply at them all.

Depending where you live might could get on days running p&d some where

Yea I’ve already applied at a few places. This will probably take a few moves until I get the experience

What attitude??? I’m responding to your condescending attitude. Or maybe it it just comes across that way. If you don’t mean it that I’m sorry. We are all grown men here. Let’s leave opinions on each other’s life choices out of it because it has no bearing on our lives and nobody wants to hear them anyway. I’m clearly responding to non-fact based opinion ####: I thank you for any factual nuggets in there and taking the time to give them.

Location may be an issue. I know my company a lot of drivers company wide want to transfer to Florida to retire. Also it’s end of the line area for most LTL companies. So getting on might be tough. But you might have to grind until you get enough experience to get on to one of these LTL’s companies. Might want to try a company that’s desperate like YRC or Holland to get your foot in the door. They’ll take drivers with less experience. Central transport with the yellow trucks. Their not great companies but it gets your foot in the door.

Yup, when the job interviewer senses an entitlement attitude the chances of getting hired go down. Way down.

It’s funny because we were all set to move to Idaho or Utah then the Covidiocy happened, my industry #### down and I had to retrain as a truck driver. Now properties are so expensive anywhere I wanted to move that we can’t.
