12 hour shifts, generally land around 11.5 hours.
I make about 5 drops a day, depending on length of haul.
Nights gets 15% load premium, weekend gets me 125 weekend pay.
Works out to 240-260 a day.
Expect the sheat shifts out of the gate though.
    It's not terribly difficult, overall.
Do a cross drop and you're toast... Instant fired.
Had a guy cross drop diesel in the premium and vice versa...
2 drivers, 2 trailers, 16k gallons of bad fuel.....a bad day for all...

Did they make the carrier replace the contaminated fuel?

    TNSquire Thanks this.

Yes, we replaced the fuel shortly after the tanks were clean.
The pumps were shut off before any got into the lines to the dispensers.

    REO6205 Thanks this.

I've only been on one complete product replacement like that. The cost was unbelievable.
I was impressed with how careful everybody was to set things right.
And all because of one guy's mistake.

Another aspect to factor in with gas hauling is the delayed pay...some companies delay your pay up to a month before you'll see a paycheck.
The company I roll with delays 2 weeks, which seems to be one of the shorter spans.
Mapco holds back 4 weeks according to one driver I spoke with.
