Snackbar is chillin'....at Shaffer

No APU, just opti-idle. These DD15's are a lot smoother on startup than the old Series 60 use to be, I almost never feel the thing start when I am asleep. We have built in inverters on the newer trucks, and a nice size fridge.

 

My next load is an anomaly...a load I don't have to push to complete. I drop this load in Halifax, NC tomorrow, then pu a load out of the same location going to Winter Haven, FL. Drop-n-hook both ends, drops Weds, anytime after 0001. And I would be willing to bet my next load after that comes out if Auburdale.

 

Doubtful, unless the next load comes up the west side of the state. Right now, all my miles get an extra $.01/mile for staying out beyond 2 weeks, so that's an extra $30-35/week the way he's been running me. If I go home, that resets. Plus, the wife may have been exposed to someone with Covid. A restaurant she sold some aprons to, closed down for a couple weeks, 2 or 3 days after she was there because several employees tested positive...so she is nervous. My intention is to stay out until the 2nd week of Feb, then go home and see how my taxes are looking. Hopefully by then she will know one way or the other if she was exposed, or worse yet if she has it.

 

But this is on top of what I already make for doing what I already do, so in a way it's a bonus. I use to get paid extra for staying out at Silver Eagle. When Arnold dissolved them in their fleet, that went away.
