Getting out of OTR bs

In a bit of a unique situation here and was looking for some sage advice. So I currently am under contract with a mega carrier with 6 months more of servitude but I absolutely hate this job, my dispatcher, and all the nanny state #### the truck is equipped with to make a long story short. I know jumping ship before the contract is up will #### my credit but I don't use credit anyways. I used to have a job as an equipment operator with cdl and worked for a government dot job working roads and construction. I've had a class b going back 2.5 years now and class a 6 months but driving experience on class a since I had a class b. We were govt so we did whatever we wanted. I ran class a trucks on class b to save on insurance. Pulling my mvr shows a "cdl" held for 2.5 years. Psp is clean as well and I don't run illegal like my currently company pushes me to but I get bent over and railed for pushing back on running legally only and I'm not making any money being forced to sit as a punitive action. Basically I'm over the stupid ######## of a mega and have been spoiled to driving trucks for the .gov where you're treated like a human and not a scumbag prisoner and free labor amongst a million other things. I know I'll fire up the boot licking company men and all that but it is what it is. Otr at a mega is dumb and I'm getting out of this mistake I made even if it comes at a high cost. Looking for input on my options. Looking for something with more than 3-4 days off every 2-3 months and hourly rate too that way I'm not shuttling trailers from abq to phoenix for no pay or sitting for 50 hours at a tyson plant for no detention pay. Might go back to heavy equipment but I like trucking, just not the mess that is the industry. Most companies I talk to say if I'm in a contract I only have the experience I have at the mega despite having no auto restriction and the company I trained at not having manuals for years now. If I'm honest with them they just hang up the phone. Should I start lying and just say I drove class a for 2.5 years, not mention the contract, and let them dig to see if they can prove I was only issued class b? We ran as intrastate exempt as well if it matters, don't know if the place i worked responds to the 30 day dot inquiry verification. I've been reading for a month now and the regulations make ones head spin. Next time I'm in the terminal the truck is getting left there and I'll be homeless for a while and live out of my van again. Just way too much ######## with being otr at a mega, and it goes beyond just the job as well.

 

Don't quite have the money to cover the contract it's 4700 and not prorated. I mean I have the money but it would put me on slim pickings trying to find something else. I don't make about 700 take home a week and most of that goes home to family to support them so I have little saved. Only about 7k.

 

Yep, ain't no life worth living being miserable everyday. Already know I'm taking my leave next chance I get. I'll find a way to make it work. I already know I can survive negative temps because my truck doesn't idle at all no matter the temp and my apu/bunk heater are dead lmao. I'll survive. And I know for sure there was a better way because I used to love trucking and heavy equipment I just never made much doing it. I'd go back and slap the #### out of myself for being greedy. Hindsight is a ##### yeah?

 

I flunked out of boy scouts but that doesn't mean I'm not comfortable living around the edges of society. I used to be a scuzzy train kid in my youth. I don't have an issue with working hard but I'm not going to be taken advantage of. I used to be a bum and thought playing in society and having money and all that would be all that. I did the straighten up and fly right deal and I couldn't afford to live off 40 hours a week where I was born and raised so I went into trucking as a ticket to the middle class. Only to realize that you work your life away and don't make half what they promise. So yeah, I'm getting out of it and I'll be fine going back to living out of my vehicle doing odd jobs. I never robbed or hurt anybody the way I lived unless you count family disappointment lol. I'll be fine and find something else, I just enjoy trucking but the industry, specifically a mega carrier otr spot is plum ####in retarded. Would be interested in sticking in it but only in an hourly spot where I got home on weekends. Otr for a mega is like being teleported back to 1907. We live in an amazing point in history where the working peasants can have a life. Who the hell would opt for the past when the present is so benevolent to working stiffs?

 

Nope don't live in Phoenix or the southwest. Just get loads there all the time and have to run trailers around when I deliver there. I'm looking to move to MT or ID or any strongly republican western state that gets lots of snow and has trees. Really my only requirements. I'll have 6 months in a week hence why I'm getting off the truck the next time I'm through a terminal.
