Been thinking about making a switch from otr dry van but man those daycabs look tiny. Im not super tall 6’5 but a 12h shift in an uncomfortable truck has me worried. Are the seats adjustable at all?

    bzinger Thanks this.

The cabs are the same as the sleeper cabs. Just don’t have a sleeper hanging off the back.

I’m 5’9 and I can’t hardly drive a Pete 579 daycab. The seat won’t go back far enough before hitting the back wall and that’s with the seat back at a 90 degree setting which for all intents and purposes, is leaning forward. Way to cramped for me. I’ve driven Mack Visions and Freightliner day cabs that offered ample room though.

    Coffey and bzinger Thank this.

This is because whomever spec'd the truck called for idiotically huge seats.. If I could have had low back seats in all of the day cabs I drove, I would have done it.

    Coffey Thanks this.

Yeah, after typing I thought it’s probably truck specific. Thx for replies.

Very true, yes they actually are the same seats as we have in our 579 sleeper trucks.

I drive a Mack. Plenty of room. I’m not tall but we have drivers who are and never heard complaints.

Can you not just drive with your head out the window?

If you're running local you'll be out walking around a lot. It's not like you're crammed into that tiny cab for ten hours straight.

I have been fuel hauling in a day cab for five months now and at 6’6” tall, it is not an issue. Well at least it’s not in the newer trucks, this company has trucks all in the late 20 teens.

But there is one truck that’s older, used for diesel, don’t know how old it is, but that cab is smaller than the newer ones.
