That gearing works well overall. The torque on my engines is fairly low so they aren’t real power houses but get the job done. Biggest of mountains in the Appalachia brings down to 35 mph with 80k. Hadn’t heard out west but we have been running out there more. These engines could be turned up very easily to have more ###.

 

So the mpg is not as crazy high as some might claim. I mean 8.0 is still very good with what I am getting with my ISX at 6.5 mpg but add weight, winter driving, wind and mountains in the West, no magic's gonna happen. For instance, between Sidney, NE and SLC, UT 550 miles I burned 110 gal last night. The gusts were 60 mph and I weighed 76 000 lbs.

 

I think you could comfortably do 7.7 to 8.3 depending on the season and terrain. 1.5 on 115k is significant thought. 3317 gallons and if fuel goes back to $4 then that’s $13,269.

But yeah that’s real world pulling mostly vans with skirts but also some reefers with skirts running mostly the same areas you do.

Be nice to knock 1k per month off that $2700 truck payment. That remaining $1700 could be covered by no repairs or downtime.

Not trying to sell you, but knowing what I’ve gathered from you the last couple years I think you’d be pleased. Gimme a holler if you ever want my specs or dealer info.

 

New trucks can still have downtime tho.....

X15 efficiency 450 2018, 19, 20, 21. I’ve been blown away at the consistency compared to the ISX’s.
