Comdata and EFS both go down from time to time. EFS was down Tuesday morning when I was trying to pay for a lumper.

If i was the driver i would of told you up front that there's interest on that loan not doing it the shady way like that. The company i worked for in the oilfield would pay you an extra 150 on your check if you had to fuel out of pocket for the trouble of doing it. Sometimes there wasn't a fuel stop around that would take our cards. I forgot which one we had, something funky not efs

    Bean Jr. Thanks this.

How do you do your fuel tax if he doesn't give you a receipt?

Have had drivers that would want a comchek for a $1 copy and drivers that would put a $1000 repair on their CC. If you think your company won't pay you back, why are you working there?

I got fuel and had a receipt get wet. It was unreadable and could not turn it in. I went back to the fuel stop 2 days later over the weekend and with the co name, pump number, amount pumped, and guesstimated time of transaction they were able to find it and give me a reprint.

I personally hate to use comdata when money is "put on the card". Because the money is always seen as a cash advance until they get a receipt. Checks for lumpers etc, usually don't behave this way. In my experience.

I and the other driver have had to pay out of pocket with our own cards a few times for various reasons. We use Mastercard so we can use it anywhere, anytime, anyplace.
    1) random fraud attempt on card numbers overnight on internet for $1 purchase alerted bank to shut down card. Went to fuel next morning and it was declined. Used my card. Co sent me repayment check overnight. This has happened to a few of us a half dozen times over the last 15 years.
    2) all our cards were issued to us with $3500 limits back in the late 90’s. Was not a problem until fuel prices started going up and up in the mid 2000’s. We kept hitting the max. The co would call the bank and get the limit raised a little more then we’d max out again. They finally got me up to a $40,000 limit because My card was the only one authorized to pay for the two of the trucks major repairs. Co always overnighted repayment check everytime.
    3) one of the maintenance dept. guys lost wallet or it was stolen with co issued card on deep sea fishing trip down in Corpus. They are allowed to drive their service trucks as pov’s anywhere. Had to pay out of pocket until replacement card came slowly from bank. He was paid back no problem.

In my company, it is the driver's responsibility to check fuel before leaving and ask for my credit card if he will need fueling. This guy did not do it.

I do not do fuel tax. I am a private local carrier.
