I understand your emotion. I am also a driver and drive my semi truck 3-4 times weekly. I also have two drivers who drive "their" trucks.
I feel that it is my responsibility as the owner to "trust but verify", as another user said here. I tried to "verify" without unfounded accusations being made to the driver.
Can I get a copy of a fuel receipt from the truck stop?

What would you do? Would you just pay out without thinking? Would you stop for a minute to think if it is possible? Would you try to ask the truck stop for the actual fuel receipt?
My business neighbor runs a porta-potty business. He took delivery of a truck load of new porta-potties and his employee stole one of them in the employee's pickup truck. I know about it because the owner came to me asking for camera footage from one of my cameras. It turned out that the employee thought that the owner would not notice "just one" porta-potty missing, but the owner of course counted and noticed. Things happen.Last edited: Jan 17, 2021

The card itself has transaction fees and if it's a credit card with a balance there will be interest, won't be much but still.
If he doesn't mention it not much you can do, In the interest of personal relations maybe you could ask him.
Wouldn't some kind of fleet card save you money?God prefers Diesels Thanks this. -

We don't pay the transaction fees. Though.
That's merchant.
There's a fee for credit to the merchant. No fee for debit. -
