    Well, with the temperatures in Death Valley rising into the stratosphere in the summer it only stands to reason they’d drop into the canyon in the winter. ;)

    The worst thing about the north east is parking. If your not parked by 3 pm in some parts, it can be real hard to find a spot.

    Planning to run 8.5-9 hours of driving a day. Starting at 7am. So I can park early. That way I can run on recaps. Except for the occasional rush load. Or if I need a break and want a 34.

    I’ve seen straight line winds blow over parked dryvans

    So we have.

    1) sleeping
    2) meth heads
    3) wind-weather

    @Judge 70mph? 50? Just curious. In my head. It's 35 mph with a gust upto 70.

    Could be 50-60 mph winds, but looked out there by its lonesome with no wind block, or if there was another trailer side by side with that one, would’ve helped.

    Ok so our route is taking us thru i80 then up to casper on 287(?) ... im not feeling good about it since it looks snowing and icy and more snow in the forecast ... so were gonna detour up i15 then just pick up 90 in butte and 94 in billings , up to bismark. 200 miles longer but its all interstate and ive ran that route 100 times atleast and it makes me feel better.... Now we have to get thru salt lake and looks like its snowing pretty good... off we go.

    I think u will find that the load is going to dictate how many hours u drive.... Unless ur doing nothing but drop and hook.... I hear guys tell me they do nothing but recap, i sometimes wonder how they make money... but maybe flatbed is different? Ive never heard flatbed driver say he only runs recap.... I think most of us burn up the 70 in 5 days... or we adjust and book loads around recap like i have been doing all this month..just the nature of flatbed i guess.. We did a 17 hour day yesterday. But were up almost 20 hours trying to get things ironed out with the broker... sometimes thats how it goes
