PoorRednek took that question straight out of my head. I was planning on getting the PP mufflers mainly because they're a ton cheaper than the GrandRocks and mine are behind the cab anyway. I think I saw you post that part number in another thread, and thanks. That's a lot cheaper and has just moved up on my to-do list.
Should that part be the correct size for me too with a Columbia and duals? I guess I'd better double check the length before ordering. I'll bet TruckPro can get them too.
BTW, if you google M100463 you should come up with a link to Donaldson's website with the specs.

I put a Grandrocks on my 2000 500hp CAT. Made the truck louder and the jakes too loud to run in town. With the OEM muffler the jakes sound wasn't very loud and I ran them in town all the time, because they really were so muffled.
I don't remember if I got a MPG gain or not. The engine did SEEM more free reving. -
When you say it made it louder, is it annoying on the hwy? Are your stacks on the sides or back? I think I can deal with louder Jakes. I try not to use them in areas where it might annoy folks or at night by houses etc. weather they're restricted or or not. Maybe it's because I'm just not normally an A-hole.
Do the jakes feel any stronger? With my little Flt (hi-low) jakes I wouldn't mind a little improvement in that area. Also wouldn't mind a little more rumble and maybe some turbo noise, hehe, but not enough to be annoying at cruise. My stacks are in the rear of the sleeper though, not as loud as side mounted type I'm sure. -
Standard mount location on a W900L.
The muffler does not make the jakes stronger. There was more noise at cruise, a louder rumble. -
I guess I just need to go to 3 or 4 stage jakes, dunno how hard that would be to do. I'm sure the oem switch wouldn't work for it, unless I just use the top two stages. -
Ive put the PP mufflers on 3 trucks now, and none of them were 2 loud. I like the subtle increase and the motor revs much more freely.

Idle was not bad at all. Just when putting the motor to work or jaking.

get the donaldson m1000463 it is the same muffler as pp and 50$ cheaper. napa can get them for you. they are 51" like all standarn mufflers. they are a bite louder then stock but not much.
punksmacker Thanks this. -
Ryder Truck Services has them . I have gotten other things from them and gotten excellent service. Price seems good too.

I wouldn't have thought of NAPA, what was the price there? I've seen them for as low as $90 online. I probably get mine at TruckPro, unless I find them decently cheaper elsewhere, because I like dealing with them. They're like autozone for trucks down here, they carry or can get anything but dealer-only type items.
