    Hello,

I have been living abroad for the past 10 years and my Texas drivers license expired many moons ago, thus I am needing to get a new regular driver’s license. Are their any companies with a paid CDL training that will take on a student who doesn’t have a driver’s license history for the past 2-3 years?

    Yes and no,

Yes most of the crappy mega carriers will take you on because you don't have any psp points or ticket history.

No some of the better carriers won't take you on because of the long length of expiration.

It just depends on the company's insurance and what they say.

I was in a similar situation in 2016. Had a 3 yr break an license had expired. I ran into a lot of places that said they couldn't even take me till i had my regular license back for at least 1 yr. But hey i found a company so you can too. Not sure where ya live or what kinda truckin ya want to do but call karen at climate express. As long as she can verify experience in the last 10 yrs she may give ya a shot. She was able to verify my experience prior to 2013 an hired me. Good luck to ya!

Most want at least 12 mos. but probably cut some slack since you have had a license in the past and the only reason you lost it was you lived overseas. It's not as if you've never had a license.

I had no license for many years. Got it back, then got my cdl. Now I work for covenant transport. It depends a lot on what you want to do as well. Covenant is teams, otr. If you want to know more about them, you can pm me
