I work for Berger out of Minnesota and we are willing to work with new graduates. We understand it's tough to get hired on out of school. We have a few divisions that offer different types of work. I feel that was my big draw when I started with them. If I'm not the right fit in one area I know they will work with me to find something I can be successful with. Household and distribution isn't for everyone, but it's a great experience. I hope this doesn't sound too recruiter-ish. I just want people to know there are companies out there willing to work with grads and don't give up on finding one.

I'll ad that company to my list. How is it listed in Minnesota? Berger-Allied or Berger Transport or what?

Berger Allied is our household division. Beyond distribution is our white glove service and Logix is more of a no touch service we offer. We have branches all over the US. They can always reach out to me and I can help them find what branch or division would be most beneficial for both them and us. It can be confusing when a company has this many different options under one umbrella.

I've been trying to get companies to correspond with me via e-mail because I want to have what they're promising me written down, not just so that I can compare, but so that I actually have proof of what was told to me, so far, the ONLY company that's been willing to correspond with me via e-mail on a fairly consistent basis has been Knight.

Trying to get Schneider to communicate via e-mail was like pulling teeth, but eventually I did get a recruiter to e-mail me.

I'd heard that Swift had local and dedicated accounts in my area, I tried to contact them and it's been a miserable experience. After a week of requesting for a recruiter to reach out to me via e-mail, one finally did and asked what questions she could answer. I asked my questions and never heard back.

Likewise, I don't generally answer my phone to numbers that I don't recognize and virtually none of them leave voicemails. When trying to call back, you have no idea who called or who to ask for and that's IF they answer at all.

I live right on the boundary for Maverick and I can't get anything out them. They won't call me, they won't e-mail me, they don't accept calls, it's been a frustrating experience, especially after being told how desperate companies were for drivers, how the industry was expected to lose X amount of drivers, and blah blah blah. It's almost as if it's a scam to get people to go to schools (company or otherwise.)

    Good luck!

I'm surprised Knight answered by email.
One little mistake in an email is grounds for an expensive lawsuit.

That's a shame that companies have to worry about that, but I guess that makes sense.
