Driving faster is not going to guarantee you to make more money as an owner operator FYI....Because as an owner/lease operator what you gross is not what you’re technically making it’s what you net... there are exceptions to the rule I can tell you from experience that driving faster will not overall make you more money

So took a 34 in Fremont in Sunday and rolled out to drop my tires in Wayne, NE and head to grab my Florida bound honey load... easy right... lol
dropped my trailer at Great Dane and got stuck in 2” of snow while BT... snowplow guy saw me and with the sacrifice of a load strap got me pulled out.
No empties there so I had to go to another customer to grab an empty before rolling into the Honey Factory... slid under the empty and yup... stuck again... locked diff... dropped the air bags... nothing... DM suggested tossing chains under the tires for traction. So o try that... ugh... nothing.
took a break, grabbed lunch in the truck... tried again... it was then that the traction gods smiled upon me and after trying to barely move the truck ever so slightly, finally got a toe hold enough to inch forward...
WHEW...
Heading to Florida so I’m hoping to leave the snow behind me for a few days... lol
so what does everyone carry with them for these issues? A real tow strap? Sand? Kitty Litter?

guess I need a small bag or two.
it’s been awhile since I’ve seen Florida... will be nice... especially during their 65 degree “winter”... lolrunningman0661 Thanks this. -
I carry a 5 gal bucket of a mix of ice melt and sand (sand is free, I live in FL and it's everywhere). Kitty litter is o.k. IF it gets you out quick, but, it's mostly clay and clay gets slick when it gets wet.
DonRobbie, dwells40, MidWest_MacDaddy and 1 other person Thank this. -
