I submitted the paperwork to the maryland court systems. Looks like mine should get expunged. My court cases were placed under nolle prosequi and stet and I havent had any charges in 6 years. So under the rules after 3 years and the two being placed as they were, I pay the 30$ fee for each and 120 days from now my record should be clean. As long as the state of md doesnt #### it up for me
misdemeanor charges

Wife says I got a letter in the mail today from state of md. Says as it reads (its in lawyer jargon) looks like the records have been expunged! This makes me so happy. Will make life much easier when job huntin' come janurary. State of md didnt let me down this time.
jtrnr1951 Thanks this. -
I don't know if this helps anybody, and please correct me if I'm wrong, but I just checked the State of Michigan website and found something. It states that a person who has more than one conviction for any offense cannot apply for expungment. That tells me that if you have more than one conviction you're screwed. Or it means that if you've been convicted of the same thing more than once you're screwed. I'm gonna call my lawyer and get some clarification because I too have a misdemeanor drug charge from 05 and its really getting in the way of being a professional truck driver. So if anyone has dealt with this in michigan let me know.

Does any one know if you get your state record expunged will it be expunged from your DAC. Most companies want the offence to be more than 5 yrs, even for a misdeamnor charge

I guess this is a good thread to ask but do misdemeanor charges from when your a juvenile show up and affect a background check? I got busted for pot twice before I was 18. Im now 24 and have a perfect adult record.
I guess what Im asking is if im asked if I've ever been convicted of a crime, do I say yes, or do I say no, being both misdemeanor charges were juvenile matters handled in juvenile court?? -
forget looking for a transportation job, evryone does background checks and this will show up.
this is what can happen, he's pulled around back or over for a inspection they always run your license, upon seeing the warrant he is arrested that leaves the co. to have to deal with the truck and load. do you get it.? -
ALL juvenille records are SEALED. -
dose this Include tickets??? -
For anyone that cares, if you pre-pay the fine in leu of going to court it is an admission of guilt and cannot be expunged (at least thats the Virginia law) I tried to get a 3 year old Public Intoxication charge expunged and the lawyer told me this.
At the time I didn't realize how this would affect trying to get a job, had I known, I would have hired an attorney and fought it.
Oh, well, live and learn. my own mistake.
